The presentation will focus on creating effective content marketing messages for our multi-segmented potential student populations. An analysis of demographic traits for the traditional, the traditional/nontraditional and the dislocated workers will provide the foundation for creating compelling messages for why community college education is important. Each population requires a different solution and a unique message.

Larry Whitworth, Ph.D.

Dr. Whitworth served as the president of Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 13 years prior to his retirement. Preceding the presidency at Washtenaw he was the president of Tidewater Community College serving the Norfolk, Virginia Beach area of Virginia.

 

Dr. Whitworth began his career at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in Pittsburgh where he served in various capacities for 24 years. He served as Dean for Vocational/Technical and Occupational programs, Campus President and ultimately as the Executive Vice President for the college.

 

Dr. Whitworth has a bachelor’s degree from Adrian College, a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Duquesne University and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in Curriculum and Supervision. Throughout his career he has pursued enrollment and resource enhancement utilizing a variety of analytic and data based tools.
